Coaching and Creative Inspiration
Redefining our experience of living alongside chronic pain
Language matters. Use it wisely.
Does this sound familiar?
You still want things out of life but don’t know how to affect positive change
You’re feeling isolated and left out of all the fun your friends and family are having
You’re feeling some undercurrent of resentment toward your body
You’re wondering if there’s a purpose to this experience
You’re having trouble remembering who you really are and what your identity is now
You aren’t sure how to navigate social interactions and invitations, and feel embarrassed by your circumstances
You sometimes feel like the pain is the one in control and you want your power back
You feel a sense of grief about “the life you had before” and other things that feel like loss or disruption
You find it difficult to take breaks and tend to yourself
You feel you should do it all, in ways you did before, and feel guilty or a sense of failure when that doesn’t work
You have difficulty identifying and speaking to your needs or asking for help
I understand. I’ve been there. Having lived with chronic pain and other chronic illnesses for many years, I get how nuanced and complex the inner experiences and inner responses to these challenges can be. What I want you to know is that there are active steps one can take to shift one’s perspective of both the pain itself and the overall circumstances. I’m not going to tell you this is an overnight fix, because it’s not, and I think that’s ultimately a good thing. These steps, over time, build cumulatively upon each other and build momentum.
If I compare where I was before in my journey to where I am now, I can tell you it’s a universe of difference. Of course, these practices were in conjunction with my ongoing medical care, something I practiced and implemented in new and surprising ways that shifted my belief system and helped me reframe and redefine my experience. While I can’t guarantee a specific outcome for our work together or any strategies implemented, it is my aim to share what’s worked for me and other information I’ve gathered along the way, and guide you toward your own path forward. I can help you ask new questions of yourself and challenge yourself in new and constructive ways. Ultimately, only you can direct your own journey. I am honored to be your guide, but only you can walk your path.

Navigating this new reality can feel like a maze filled with dead ends that don’t go anywhere.
I’m here to help you walk this new path as a labyrinth to gain new kinds of strength, insight, and inspiration.
What Does wordwise mean?
WordWise means the intentional use of language to define, redefine and reimagine our perception of life’s experiences. It’s the crafting of new terminology in transformational ways, giving rise to possibilities we might not have realized were available to us. As a former language instructor, I am conscious of the power of language in giving meaning and shape to what we perceive and what we want to create for ourselves. Let’s design a new lexicon for you.
